First European Games to unveil Azerbaijan
The First European Games in Baku will attract a large number of spectators and unveil Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s potential in the sphere of tourism hasn’t been fully disclosed, according to the princess.

“Azerbaijan is an incredibly beautiful country,” she said. “Wonderful people live here and Azerbaijani cuisine is the most delicious of all that I have tried.”

Princess Elizabeth Karadjordjevic added that Azerbaijan’s tourism opportunities are not widely known yet.

“Many people prefer to go on vacation to Europe, but they should visit Azerbaijan,” she said. “There are a lot of interesting things here, [the country] has rich culture and history.”

Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
