Mubariz Gurbali told the guest that state-religion relations in Azerbaijan are regulated with the Constitution and the law on religious freedom. Azerbaijan today is an exemplary country in the world in terms of tolerance and multicultural values.
“A variety of confessions operate in the state of independent and mutual understanding. Mosques, synagogues, and churches in the country are at people’s service,” he said.
Mubariz Gurbanli noted that a portion of the houses of worship are repaired and renovated by the Azerbaijani government.
Thanking for the receipt, the ambassador assured that he spares no effort for bilateral relations to develop, adding that in his speech at the US Senate – when he was nominated for his current post as ambassador – he had put special emphasis on the fact that Azerbaijan is a plain example of tolerance.
