Touching upon the importance of official visits in strengthening bilateral ties, Khalaf Khalafov noted there is a strong ground to bring the Azerbaijani-Russian bilaterally beneficial cooperation into the higher level.
The sides discussed improvement of the legal framework sharing proposals on the issue.
Alexei Pavlovsky applauded Azerbaijani and Russian officials’ significant role in rapid development of relations between the two countries. The Azerbaijani and Russian presidents’ meeting during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory over fascism in Moscow is a good example of the friendship between the two countries.
Khalafov noted Azerbaijan is a serious ally of Russia in the Southern Caucasus region. He spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and underlined its threats to regional stability and security. Azerbaijani Deputy Minister stressed the solution of the conflict would only be possible in the case the occupied territories would be returned. Khalaf Khalafov stressed important role of Russia as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group in the settlement of the conflict.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu and his Russian colleague Ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin were present in the meeting.
