Mexico City is hosting the 7th Fair of the Friendly Cultures (Feria de las Culturas Amigas).

The Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States of Mexico told that the fair, organized by the city authorities, is aimed at promoting the cultures of the countries represented by their diplomatic missions accredited in Mexico, as well as introduce to the world community the peaceful coexistence and diversity of various local and European cultures in Mexico. At the cultural fair, Azerbaijan is represented by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The fair is being held in the Zocalo square, the largest public square and known as the Historical Center in Mexico City. The fair is attended by representatives of 94 countries and international organizations. Millions of city residents and tourists are expected to visit the international exhibitions during the fair.

During the event, national souvenirs, carpets, information and videos about the history, culture, cuisine, customs and traditions of Azerbaijan as well as the first European Games to be held in Baku, and maps and brochures which describe the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan are distributed in the area reserved for Azerbaijan.

According to the information, a map reflecting the "Great Armenia" was displayed in the area allocated for Armenia on the first day of the fair. However, the map was removed by the organizers through the efforts of the Azerbaijan embassy.
