Baku-2015 stand displayed in Turkish Day Parade held in New York City
The Baku-2015 first European Games has been displayed in the 34th traditional Turkish Day Parade organized in New York.

The parade took place with the participation of thousands of people in the city’s Borough of Manhattan. The Azerbaijani diaspora presented the Baku-2015 first European Games to the city residents and visitors there. A mobile stand bearing the logo of the Games has been carried along the city’s main borough for several hours. Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States Ramil Hasanov, Permanent Representative of Turkey to the United Nations Yaşar Halit Çevik as well as representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan joined the parade, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora told.

Diaspora organizations of Turkic-speaking countries as well as the Azerbaijan Association of New York took an active part in the parade. Diaspora activists – many of them wearing national clothes – took part in the parade, in their hands placards depicting the flags of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the United States and Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan.

Turkish national dance groups and musicians demonstrated interesting performances. Note that, thousands of Turkic-speaking people living in different U.S. states head to New York City every year to join the Turkish Day Parade.
