The report by Pakistan’s State Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal Khan was dedicated to this issue, according to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources.
Talking about the historical significance of this large-scale gas pipeline, the rapporteur said that the implementation of this project will allow to strengthen the peace, promote sustainable development and expand cooperation in Asia.
The annual capacity of TAPI is expected to exceed 30 billion cubic meters.
Afghanistan, Pakistan and India are experiencing ever-increasing gas shortage affecting the economies of South Asian countries. The demand for energy resources in these countries determines the high economic feasibility of this project, the statement said.
Turkmenistan has huge natural fuel reserves. It guarantees the long-term supply via this route, as well as all other specified routes, the statement said.
The TAPI gas pipeline length will be 1,800 kilometers. It will be designed to supply gas to the countries with a population of over 1.5 billion people.
Strengthening of existing partnership was discussed at the meetings of the Congress sessions, the ministry said.
Forming of Turkmenistan’s new gas resources for the effective development and the opportunities of diversifying the exports of Turkmen gas were also discussed.
