The strengthening of the relations between the EU and the eastern neighbors would bring mutual benefits in the social-economic and political fields and would help for the stability and prosperity of Eastern Europe, he added.
Eastern Partnership envisages the political association and economic integration of the EU with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The last three countries signed an agreement on associated partnership with the EU in 2014.
The Eastern Partnership summit is being held in Riga on May 21-22. The presidents and the heads of the governments of the EU countries and the countries included in the program are taking part in the summit.
