  Armenia’s FM, Minsk Group co-chairs prioritize reduction of tension on the border

Armenia’s foreign minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received today OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Stéphane Visconti of France, and Andrew Schofer of the United States of America and personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk who are in Armenian on a regional visit, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian media. 

During the meeting the interlocutors referred to the discussions held in September of the running year between Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign affairs ministers in New York. The parties attached significance to the formation of favorable atmosphere for peace and reduction of recent tension on the border.

The parties also referred to the positions of the sides over peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Minister Mnatsakanyan stressed the necessity of ensuring balance in ensuring commitments for peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The minister and co-chairs also exchanged thoughts over the further steps to be undertaken in the Minsk Group format.
