OSCE chairman: We should observe provisions of Helsinki Final Act and avoid double standards
“If there is a political will, it is possible to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict"

The South Caucasus region is important for stability in Europe, OSCE Chairperson-in-office, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić said Monday at a press conference following the meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

He said the OSCE is aware of the nature of the conflict.

“Peace is the only solution to the conflict. All parties should demonstrate a political will. I expressed my attitude toward this issue. I believe that we will achieve a lasting solution to the conflict through the special representative and the OSCE Minsk Group. If there is a political will, it is possible to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. There is also a need for special commitments of the Minsk Group countries, and their adherence to these commitments. They need to achieve full implementation of the requirements arising from the ceasefire agreement, the OSCE chairman added.

Dačić said he will put forward a number of initiatives at the meeting with his Armenian counterpart.

“We should observe the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act and give avoid double standards, he noted.
