Another candidate submits documents to CEC for participation in presidential elections in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani United People`s Front party chairman Gudret Hasanguliyev submitted documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for participation in upcoming presidential elections, the head of press-service Azer Sariyev said on Monday.

Earlier, the documents of six candidates were presented to the Central Election Commission.

These candidates include: candidate of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party - Chairman of the party, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the candidate of Azadlig party - party`s chairman Ahmed Oruj, the candidate from Citizen and Development Party, the party`s chairman Ali Aliyev, Azerbaijan Liberal Party chairman Fuad Aliyev, lawyer Ilgar Mammadov (Altay), who put forward his candidacy on his own initiative and the chairman of Umid party, Igbal Aghazade.

The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan has already approved the candidatures of the Chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and the chairman of Azadlig party, Ahmed Oruj.

Azerbaijani citizens who have the voting right (active or passive), initiative group of voters, political parties, blocks of political parties have the right to nominate the candidacy for participation in the presidential elections.

Earlier, the CEC decided to hold presidential election on October 9.

Previous presidential elections were held on October 15, 2008. The presidential elections in Azerbaijan are held every five years.
