Baku 2015: Unique exhibits in unique Gala museum complex
The Gala state archaeological and ethnographic museum complex is considered one of the most interesting tourist sites in Baku.
One can see the burial mounds, tombs, houses, constructions, water storages, the ruins of an ancient castle, five mosques, three baths and others in the territory of this complex.

All this was discovered on the Absheron Peninsula and related to the period from the third millennium BC to the twentieth century.

The first archaeological and ethnographic complex in the open air was established in 2008 to preserve these monuments, as well as to replenish them as a result of the archaeological excavations in Absheron.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
