According to him, Europe is seriously concerned over the shortage of energy resources because of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
“Thus, Russia is the major supplier of energy resources to Europe. Therefore, Azerbaijan`s energy potential is important for Europe,” the minister said.
Minister Aliyev said in 2014 oil production in Azerbaijan amounted to 42 million tons and gas production – 29 billion cubic meters, noting that the country tries to keep oil production at a stable level.
“We also intend to increase the annual oil production up to 45 million tons and double gas production. Therefore, we are developing a new program for gas production and supply,” the minister stressed.
