“I went to the Youth Commonwealth Games in 2011 in the Isle of Man and the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2013 which I won, so I have been to multi-sport events before and I have always enjoyed them,” said Bevan.
It’s good to be a part of something even bigger and seeing how the other sports work and what they do to get the best out of training and competitions, the UK gymnast added.
“The week after the Europeans I found out I had stress fractures in my back. It was quite hard to take but the medical team from the EIS (English Institute of Sport) and my coach Scott Hann were really supportive and I had a really good programme created for me,” he said.
“It was a brilliant programme and I came back to full fitness quite fast considering the nature of the injury,” the gymnast added.
Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
