Protesters to wait Until Serzh Sargsyan Returns to Armenia
In his interview to media activist of the protest against increase in electricity price Vaghinak Shushanyan stated that the sit-in will continue. The demand is clear: no dialogue, no discussion, only cancellation of the decision on increase by president.

The police had earlier stated that the president is not in Armenia and there is no need to wait for him.

Vaghinak says he will tell the police that the president is not in Armenia but he certainly intends to return and they will be waiting for him as they still have time till August 1 when the increase will become effective.

I thought and many people thought that the crackdown would weaken the movement but in reality it harmed the police more. The people who wanted to avoid violence or did not believe that the protests will produce any results they were angered by the violent crackdown on the youths and decided to join these citizens who just want to not increase their social burden. “The longer we stay, the more populous the demonstrations will become, he noted. At the moment there are about 700 people in the street. It’s 34 degrees outside.
