The minister noted that the general budget of the games was AZN 960 million. “This budget was used on various purposes such as the opening and closing ceremonies, information technologies, salaries, etc. We have not misused one single manat from the budget. Extra AZN 134 million was needed for imported goods due to the devaluation of manat. We did not asked the state for those funds as an extra amount and we spent from the previously envisaged budget by cutting down on some expenditures”.
Azad Rahimov noted that the charter of the Baku-2015 Operating Committee has three directions regarding expenditures.
He said one direction is about the sale of tickets: “The others have to do with incomes from the sponsor and from the sales of broadcasting rights. After calculations on these three directions, AZN15 to 17 million formed”.
The minister said about 17,000 volunteers participated in the games. “5,000 volunteers attended the opening and closing ceremonies and others took part in the competitions”.
Azad Rahimov added that the president will present special gifts for volunteers. “We would like them to work with us in future”.
