Turkey deploying military equipment to border with Syria
Turkey is deploying military equipment to the Gaziantep province located on the border with Syria, Kanal7 TV channel reported June 30.
Reportedly, over 32 tanks have been sent to the Gaziantep province.

Previously, it was also reported that Turkey is considering the creation of safe zones in Syria between the cities of Aleppo, Idlib and the Turkish border, with the inclusion of the border towns of Ayn al-Arab (Kobani), Jarabulus and others.

Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu earlier urged the UN to make a decision regarding the creation of safety zones in Syria.

Turkey’s authorities have been actively promoting the issue of establishing the safety zone in the north of Syria.

Syrian authorities have repeatedly condemned the intention of the Turkish government and said that Damascus strongly rejects the creation of buffer zones, no matter where they are located.

Earlier, the former head of the Turkish General Staff Ilker Basbug said that the units of the armed forces of Turkey can enter Syria to create safety zones there, but they won’t be able to leave that country’s territory. He also urged Ankara to support the Syrian government.
