Akhundov said it is interesting that the main conditions of the four resolutions adopted by the Security Council 27 years ago were all the same – to immediately cease hostilities and hostile acts of the conflicting parties, to ensure an immediate withdrawal of all occupying forces from the Kalbajar region and others. “The Security Council then also urged the parties to immediately resume negotiations in order to resolve conflict. All this has not yet been ensured, and the military actions of the parties periodically resumed with varying strength.”

He noted that the latest clash again attracted the attention of the world community.

“First of all, I would like to note that Azerbaijan does not encroach into a single inch of foreign territory. Today, we are again called for negotiations. But negotiations have been going on since 1994, and there are still no results. Moreover, in my opinion, some events and circumstances make negotiations meaningless. Akhundov also commented on allegations of the Turkish intervention into the conflict.
