Azerbaijan, Poland discuss prospects of economic cooperation
The governments of Azerbaijan and Poland are ready to discuss prospects of economic cooperation.
Negotiations will be held during the sixth meeting of intergovernmental commissions on economic cooperation which will take place in late October and early November in Baku, Poland`s embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend on Friday.

It is also planned to hold a business forum within the meeting attended by business people of the two countries.

During last year`s Azerbaijani-Polish business forum, the construction, energy and banking sector were named as promising spheres for cooperation.

Co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission and Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, noted that Poland has a great potential for developing scientific and technical areas and creating free economic zones in the spheres of healthcare and transport.

"Relations between Azerbaijan and Poland are developing dynamically. Today they reached a new level in spite of the on-going world financial and economic crisis. There are favourable mechanisms between the two countries for cooperation and the Azerbaijani government is ready to view any proposal related to its development," the minister said.

"Currently, Azerbaijan works on a project for construction of a large oil and gas processing complex and the government would like to see Polish companies working there," Aliyev said.

According to the data from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, the volume of commodity turnover between Azerbaijan and Poland amounted to $24,190,400 in the first six months of 2013.

Azerbaijan mainly exports agricultural and chemical products to Poland.
