Energy Minister Natig Aliyev has received the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta.
According to Ministry’s press service, the sides discussed cooperation issues of the US with Azerbaijan as an energy producer and supplier to provide regional, European and global energy security.
N. Aliyev said the works on the Southern Gas Corridor are carried out within the timeframe. He underlined importance of meeting of the Advisory Council held on February 12. According to him, that meeting created condition for political discussion of the project, discussion of all possible problems that may arise in all transit countries and look for ways to solve these problems. Azerbaijan fulfils all obligations on energy projects. A strong legal framework, strong partners and opportunities in our country allow it.
Aliyev also spoke about the problems around TAP and highly appreciated US view in this regard: “BTC example also approves that political support is very important for realization of large energy projets. Such of support is also important for the Southern Gas Corridor, as well as its part TAP”.
The US ambassador Cekuta noted that Official Washington will further provide its support to Azerbaijan for production and transportation of gas.
They also exchanged opinions on influence of global events on energy projects and oil prices, Tans Caspian gas pipeline and Turkish Stream projects.
