SOCAR, INPEX discuss participation in joint projects
SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and Japanese largest oil company INPEX discussed the participation in joint projects in Azerbaijan and abroad, SOCAR said July 9.
The issue was discussed during the visit of SOCAR’s delegation headed by the company’s president Rovnag Abdullayev to Japan and his meeting with INPEX Corporation President Toshiaki Kitamura.

SOCAR vice presidents Suleyman Gasimov and Tofig Gahramanov, Azerbaijani Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Japan Gursel Ismayilzade, as well as INPEX vice president for Eurasia and the Middle East Yasuhisa Kanehara and vice president of the asset management company in the Azeri -Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) projects Akihiko Kurashina also attended the meeting.

According to the statement, the sides discussed INPEX participation in SOCAR’s projects, especially in ACG project, further cooperation on ACG, possible cooperation prospects on the projects in Azerbaijan and abroad, organizing of training for SOCAR’s specialists in the Japanese corporation and a number of other issues.

Japanese İNPEX owns a 10.96 percent stake in the ACG block development project, as well as a 2.5 percent stake in the BTC pipeline.
