  ANAMA finds over 1500 unexploded devices in Azerbaijan

On 21-31 December, 2020 ANAMA received 44 (forty four) emergency calls from the "102 " Service Call Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on artillery projectiles found in Agdam, Agjabedy, Barda, Goranboy, Gazakh, Gubadli, Tartar districts and Mingachevir city. From the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations 6 (six) and from the State Border Service - 1 (one) information received, AzVision.az reports.

As response action to the reported 51 emergency calls ANAMA in close cooperation with the specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted 43 emergency and operational clearance field missions. As reported 243 pieces of unexploded ordnance, 18 pieces of bomblets, 35 pieces of anti-personnel mines, 86 pieces of anti-tank mines, 37 pieces of anti-tank mine fuses, 275 kg of plastic explosives, 150 kg of ammonium-nitrate explosives, and 38 pieces of exploded shell remnants were found as a result of missions.

ANAMA’s demolition team neutralized 314 pieces of mines and unexploded munitions. Explosive Ordnance Risk Education Specialists conducted risk awareness sessions among 80 641 civilians.

In general, from September 27 to December 31, 2020, ANAMA executed 1 793 special operational emergency field visits as response action to 2 268 signals (operational calls). In line with the agreed Plan of Action special fact finding missions were executed in the residential areas near the oil pipeline, territory of Mingachevir TPP, Southern Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), arable and pasture areas, roadsides, forests, schools in Aghdam, Agdash, Agjabedi, Barda, Beylagan, Bilasuvar, Jabrayil, Goranboy, Goygol, Naftalan, Kurdemir, Fuzuli, Tartar, Tovuz, Shamkir, Hajigabul, Zardab, Khizi, Khojavend, Oghuz, Gebele districts, Ganja and Mingachevir cities, as a result of which 1619 unexploded ordnance (UXQ), 4 542 pieces of anti-personnel mines, 1 430 pieces of anti-tank mines, | 912 pieces of anti-tank mine explosive fuses, 77 pieces of detonators, 1 437 pieces of 9N235 type bomblets (cluster munitions), 20 988 small arms ammunition of various calibers, 2 pieces of gas-grenades, 5 968 grams of black gunpowder, 275 kg of plastic explosives, 150 kg ammonium-nitrate explosives, 27 pieces of meteorological radio direction detectors for military purposes, 7 drones (destroyed), 2 missiles schemes and 1938 exploded missile parts were found.
