"We will evaluate the next steps together with Azerbaijan" - Turkish FM

"We are in the process of establishing a Russian-Turkish Joint Center to monitor ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh at the points determined by Azerbaijan. The main purpose of these centers will be to monitor the ceasefire. In case of violation of the ceasefire, measures will be taken to prevent it."

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who made a visit to Portugal made these remarks answering journalists' questions at a press conference, AzVision.az reports citing APA.

The minister said that during the 44-day war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, three attempts were made to declare a ceasefire with the intervention of Russia, the United States and France, but each time it was violated by Armenia. Cavusoglu expressed hope that Armenia would comply with the latest decision on the ceasefire: “In this case, we will normalize relations with Armenia. We will evaluate the next steps together with Azerbaijan. The opening of the border with Armenia will be beneficial for this country, since Armenia is isolated within itself.
