President: "Azerbaijan has a bright future and no power can affect our successes"
President Ilham Aliyev attended the Iftar ceremony on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan

Chairman of the Clerical Office of Caucasus Muslims Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade has today hosted the Iftar ceremony on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan at his residency.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the Iftar ceremony.

The event kicked off with the recitation of verses from the Quran.

Addressing the ceremony, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for accepting the invitation to attend the Iftar ceremony organized on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Other speakers including head of the Baku and Caspian Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Alexander and chairman of the Religious Community of the Mountain Jews of Baku Milikh Yevdayev praised tolerance in Azerbaijan, and the country`s contributions to developing interreligious dialogue.

The head of state addressed the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the holy Ramadan, wished peace and happiness:

“Iftar ceremony has become a wonderful tradition in Azerbaijan year by year and it is a manifestation of religion-state relations. This policy which foundation was laid by Heydar Aliyev has strengthened base of our independence”.

The President emphasized that Azerbaijan pursues intended policy and there is unity between the people and the government, it is country’s success: “Only in the period of independence, our country has achieved success. In recent years, are held many events related to interfaith relations and multiculturalism, these events are very important and tolerance in the country is way of lifestyle”.

“The Head of State noted that Azerbaijan is a secular state and the first ever European Games were held in Azerbaijan at a high level. “We are an independent country and the fate of the Azerbaijani people is depending on itself. National and spiritual values are above all for our people”, said President Ilham Aliyev.

Noting that Azerbaijan has a bright future and no power can affect our successes during his speech at the Iftar ceremony, Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev once more congratulated Azerbaijani people and the world Muslims on the occasion of holy Ramadan.
