The UN will send an assessment mission to Karabakh - Zakharov

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) actively works in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, AzVision.az reports citing the Russian media.

Zakharova notes that Russia supports UN cooperation with Baku and Yerevan on all humanitarian issues.

“Russia contributes to the normalization of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh in its turn,” stressed M. Zakharova.

"As for the specialized agencies of the UN system, the organization is in contact with Azerbaijan and Armenia, holding talks to send a comprehensive assessment mission to Nagorno-Karabakh," Zakharova said.
