"No to Plunder" protest in front of Prosecutor General
Several dozens of the “No to Plunder” initiative members gathered today in the centre of Yerevan, where they started a march to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia.

The activists demand to punish the police officers, who used violence against the protestors in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue on June 23 (photos).

“The police yesterday announced it fined several officers and disrated another one, but this is not sufficient for us. The system must be cleaned off all swindlers, who delivered orders and those who used violence,” activist Maxim Sargsyan said.

The activists are carrying the photos of 30 plainclothes men who were allegedly the ones who used violence. The activists also carry the photos of high-ranking police officers. All the photos bear the inscription “Punish!”

The “No to Plunder” initiative activists handed in their letter to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia

The letter, whose content the activists first read, speaks on the necessity of criminal punishment of the policemen, who used forced against the protestors.

On June 23, the Armenian police dispersed by water canon the members of the “No to Plunder” initiative, who were struggling against the electricity price hike. 237 protestors along with journalists were arrested and taken to police departments.
