Artak Davtyan, who was the chief of general staff of the Armenian Army from 2018 to 2020 spoke about the 44-day war, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian media.

In an interview with local media, he answered questions about the Karabakh war.

Asked about "Why did the war end with thousands of losses, wounded, many captives and missing people, and the loss of land?" he answered: "One thing I can say for sure is that the rival was strong enough. We weren't really weak either. After all, the fighting lasted 44 days. Everything happened during the last few days, and in the end something went wrong. I can't say the details since I don't know. However, these details and mistakes must be disclosed. I am ready to participate in the establishment of a commission to clarify the causes of the consequences of the war. "

Davtyan was also asked question about the liberation of Shusha: "What happened in Shusha is, first of all, a great pain and tragedy for me. 'What happened in the city?', 'how did the enemy get there' , these questions are not clear even to the military in Shusha. So, as in all war, what happened in Shusha must be studied in detail. Currently I don't want to draw any conclusions. "
