Addressing the conference, Shikhaliyev stressed that Azerbaijan, as an initiator and investor of large-scale regional projects, has become a leading economic force both in the region and beyond. Besides, he mentioned that Azerbaijan has turned into a new donor country joining the donor families around the world.
Through the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AIDA, Azerbaijan renders assistance to various countries all over the world, Shikhaliyev said, adding for instance, it has recently provided assistance to three African countries to combat Ebola outbreak.
“Over 40 countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia have benefited from humanitarian, financial and technical assistance of AIDA,” he noted.
