Azerbaijan is in final stage of discussions with EU over agreement, says Ilham Aliyev

Azerbaijan will soon complete the discussion of the agreement with the European Union which was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the second Nagorno-Karabakh War, said President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in a video format with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, AzVision.az reports.

"Previously, you and your colleague exchanged their views over the issues regarding the work of the bilateral economic commission. I was informed about it and I think that things are moving in the right direction", President Ilham Aliyev stated.

President Aliyev highlighted the significance of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary in different spheres noting that the contract with the EU was adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the second Nagorno-Karabakh War.

"However, the vast majority of the provisions of the agreement have already been agreed, and I am confident that we will record progress in the coming months. Of course, our bilateral relations are very important. Azerbaijan and Hungary, friendly countries, should intensify economic and trade cooperation," Aliyev added.
