Azerbaijan and Hungary, friendly countries, must strengthen their economic and trade cooperation in the territories liberated from the Armenian occupation during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, said President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in a video format with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, AzVision.az reports.
President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the opportunities for reconstruction works in the liberated lands which were completely destroyed by the opposite side.
"Our lands have been destroyed and we have to rebuild those areas from scratch. We are talking about a large part of Azerbaijan - more than 10,000 square kilometers. We want to achieve this in cooperation with our partners. I have already stated for several times that we will invite companies from other countries. Hungary is one of the closest friends of Azerbaijan. I am sure that Hungarian companies will have many opportunities to work with us in the liberated territories", Aliyev added.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that there are opportunities in other areas as well. There is great potential in agriculture and technology.
"We plan to implement modern infrastructure and urban development projects in the liberated areas. Thus, the volume of work to be done is large, and I am sure that during your visit you will discuss these issues in detail with your colleagues, "the President said.
