In his speech at the British parliament last week, Blackman spoke out against the invitation of Bako Sahakyan to London by Chatham House, asking his colleagues “how is it a right decision from Chatham House to pay attention to the person who presents himself as the leader of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which is not recognized by any country, even Armenia?”, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) told APA.
The MP said the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan resulted in the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven adjacent districts of Azerbaijan, as well as the fact that about one million Azerbaijanis were forced to leave their homes and move to refugee camps. “I think it a wrong decision to invite to our country a person who has committed an unfair action against those people and give him the floor to speak. The UN Security Council adopted four resolutions on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but they still remain unfulfilled. The incoming complaints from citizens of Azerbaijan claim that the resolutions adopted by the UN are mainly implemented immediately, but as for their problems, they have to wait the restoration of justice for more than 20 years.”
