`Armenia concerned over Russian offensive arms supplies to Azerbaijan`
Armenia is concerned over Russia`s selling offensive weapons to Azerbaijan, the country`s Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Alik Mirzabekyan told Russia`s "Export voorujeniy" magazine.

Offensive arms were sold purposefully, Mirzabekyan said.

“The matter is about it. No one is speaking about S-300 systems. Yes, we understand that they (Russia-red.) violated conventional arms control agreements reached in Europe. We are very concerned about it. We are not concerned over the fact of arms sale, but the types of the weapons,” he noted.

Mirzabekyan went on to add: Russia sold "Smerch" multiple rocket launchers, TOS-1A heavy flame thrower system, T-90 tanks, MTU-90 tanks and other arms to Azerbaijan. They are not only offensive weapons but also selective ones. There are notions of attack and counter-attack operations. The main operation is to break through defense barriers. Russia`s arms supplies to Azerbaijan are fully consistent with it.”
