A decision to hold the 7th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations in Baku in 2016 was taken during the ministerial meeting of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends held as part of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly on September 26, 2014, says the order.
According to the order, an Organizing Committee was created in the connection with holding the Forum. Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev was appointed as chairman of the Organizing Committee.
