US Fed keeps policy on hold, citing economic strength

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday said employment and the overall US economy were improving but again stressed its commitment to continue stimulus for some time, AzVision.az reports citing AFP.

In a statement at the conclusion of its two-day meeting, the central bank's policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) seemed more upbeat about the outlook, and less concerned about risks.

"The sectors most adversely affected by the pandemic remain weak but have shown improvement. Inflation has risen, largely reflecting transitory factors," the FOMC said.
