16 percent of direct investments in Azerbaijan`s economy accounts for non-oil sector
In first six months of 2013 the total volume of foreign capital in the form of direct investments in Azerbaijan`s economy amounted to $3 billion, where the specific weight of the oil and gas sector stood at 84 percent, Azerbaijani Central Bank`s balance of payments posted on Thursday on its website said.
These investments were used to finance works on the territory of Azerbaijan, mainly in the works carried out in oil and gas projects by BP Exploration Ltd (Shah Deniz) and the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) at Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field.

According to estimates of the CBA, the volume of direct investments attracted to the non-oil sector amounted to $474.9 million, which accounted for 16 percent of the total volume of direct investment attracted into the country.
