`Rise up Armenia` protesters keep police on guard, break through cordon - PHOTOS
Some of the members of the “Rise up, Armenia” initiative, who are staging a sit-in in Yerevan’s Republic Square managed to break through the police cordon and continue the sit-in on the central paved oval of the square, AzVision.az reports citing to news.am

Initiative Council member Davit Sanasaryan told Armenian news.am that the police forcefully removed the activists again from the aforementioned area.

“We are keeping the police on guard; we are sitting, while they are “suffering.” We are showing that we will stage the sit-in in the central part. If they think they can interfere with our protest, I assure you – we will stage our protest,” Sanasaryan said.

At the moment the number of protestors is about thirty. According to Sanasaryan, they will not leave the sit-in site and will move up and down across the pavements in the morning, blocking the way and thus informing people about their protest.

The initiative members have been trying to stage a sit-in in the central part of Yerevan’s Republic Square since 18:00 of July 27.

Large number of policemen have arrived at the square and formed a wall keeping the activists away from the central part.

Nevertheless, three of them had managed to break through the police cordon and sit in the central oval area. The police immediately removed the activists from there dragging them by feet and hands.
