ADB familiarized with preparations for annual meeting of Board of Bank Governors in Baku
Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank Anthony Baker visited the place of the planned annual meeting of the ADB Board of Governors within his visit to Baku, according to a message from ADB Baku Office published on Tuesday.

The meeting of ADB Board of Governors will be held in 2015 in Baku.

In addition, the ADB Baku Office said that during his visit to Azerbaijan`s capital from September 9 to September 15, Baker held meetings with Deputy Prime Minister A. Sharifov, Minister of Economic Development (Alternate ADB Governor) Shahin Mustafayev, First Deputy Minister of Finance Ilgar Fatizadeh, Deputy Minister of Transport Musa Panahov, Chairman of Azersu OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov and Chairman of Azeryolservis Javid Gurbanov.

At the meetings, Baker discussed the implementation process of the current ADB-funded projects in various sectors, financial aspects of investment programs, as well as prospects of future cooperation in different fields identified as priority fields by government of Azerbaijan

"Within the visit, Baker also visited Goychay to inspect the on-going water supply project and Ganja to check the completed Ganja Bypass," the message said.

Azerbaijan became a member of the Asian Development Bank on December 22, 1999.

The ADB was established in 1966 and has 67 members. The headquarters of the bank is located in the capital of the Philippines, Manila. Azerbaijan became a member of the Asian Development Bank on December 22, 1999. The country`s participation share in the bank`s capital is 0.5 per cent.
