Mevlut Cavusoglu: Turkey, US to launch `comprehensive battle` against ISIL soon
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said in an interview to TRT channel that preparations for large-scale operations against ISIL in Syria are underway.
“As part of our agreement with the US we have made progress regarding the opening up of our bases. We`re seeing that manned and unmanned American planes are arriving and soon we will launch a comprehensive battle against ISIL all together,” he said.

Earlier, there have been reports of US drones carrying arms taking off from the Incirlik airbase. Drones flew sorties over Syrian territory for intelligence gathering but did not strike ISIL positions.

As part of the rules of using the airbase, drones from other countries can also be used. Decisions regarding the use of warplanes will each time be determined within Turkey-US join action.

Note that, the United States has long seeking Turkey’s permission to use this base during anti-ISIL operations.
