Iran, Georgia can take steps to upgrade ties
Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi urged Georgian Deputy Speaker Gubaz Sanikidze on expansion of historical and cultural relations between Tehran and Tbilisi, IRNA reported.
In a meeting here on Saturday, Sarmadi referred to the role of parliaments in promotion of bilateral ties saying their decisions are a manifestation of their peoples` determination and demands.

Sanikidze thanked Iran for its support to Georgia since its independence and said, the government and people of his country highly appreciate cooperation with Iran which is 3000-years old.

Welcoming the nuclear agreement between Iran and P5+1 group of world powers, he added, Coergia is ready for increasing its cooperation with Iran.
He also called for exchange of delegations between Iran and Georgia at high-ranking levels.
