Palestinian president Abbas planning visit to Tehran
President of Palestine Mahmud Abbas will visit Tehran in two months.
Ahmad Majdalani a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee who traveled to Tehran told Fars News Agency Aug.11 that "significant political understandings were achieved during his meetings with Iranian officials and the issues of boosting the relations as well as Abbas`s travel to Tehran were discussed," he said.

He said that Iran and Palestine governments agreed to establish a committee to boost political, cultural, economical relations.

Abbas has not been in Tehran since 2005, when he became palatine president then, excepting one time in 2012 that he participated in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting.

Majdalani who arrived in Tehran in Saturday, has met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Majdani said that during his meeting with Zarif, Iran`s FM welcomed boosting ties with Palestine. "Putting an end to disagreements, conflicts and reaching reconciliation with Hamas was our goal in visiting Tehran," he added.
