NATO's Javier Colomina highlights significance of cooperation with Azerbaijan

Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova held a meeting with a delegation led by NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Political and Security Affairs, Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina, AzVision.az reports.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis highlighted Azerbaijan's active participation in NATO's Partnership for Peace Program stating that their cooperation has developed successfully over the past period.

"Azerbaijan contributes to the maintenance of international peace and actively participates in NATO peacekeeping missions as an associate member of the organization. As the President of Azerbaijan stressed, participation in NATO peacekeeping operations is an important part of our cooperation. In this regard, it is necessary to emphasize the service of Azerbaijani soldiers in Afghanistan shoulder to shoulder with NATO soldiers until the last day. Azerbaijan is also active in the framework of NATO's Women's, Peace and Security Program", she added.

In his turn, Javier Colomina thanked Azerbaijan for its participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan stressing the significance of cooperation with Azerbaijan as an associate member of the organization.
