New head of oil, gas holding company in Uzbekistan
Previous head of Uzbekneftegaz was Shokir Fayzullaev, who held this post since 2010. Fayzullaev was appointed deputy minister of economy by decision of the head of state.
Since November 2013, Sultanov, born in 1967, worked as the first deputy chairman of the Board, chief of the main department of prediction, resources and investment programs of Uzbekneftegaz.
Previously, he was the director general of Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (part of Uzbekneftegaz).
In 1998-1999, he worked as chief specialist of the group on monitoring the conduct of inspections and the purchase of instruments and equipment, reception of project documents for the management of construction of Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex. In 1998 he worked as the chief specialist of the directorate for the implementation of the contracts of association of foreign economic relations of Uzvneshneftegaz. In 1996-1998 he was the main expert on control on preparation and reception of devices and equipment of the directorate on the implementation of the contract for the construction of Bukhara Oil Refinery Company “Uzneftepererabotka.”
Uzbekneftegaz is a monopoly operator of oil and gas complex of Uzbekistan, which was created in 1998 and brings together six joint stock companies.
