Turkey is ready to contribute to reducing tension in the Russia-Ukraine relations in case of their consent, which can be done in the form of mediation or in any other format, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the reporters who accompanied him during his visit to Qatar, AzVision.az reports citing TRT Haber TV channel.
The president stressed that Turkey is closely following the situation in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
“Ankara opposes further escalation of the situation related to Ukraine and stands for stability in the region,” Erdogan said. “We are ready to contribute to the creation of a dialogue to reduce the tension that has recently arisen between Kyiv and Moscow. Of course, Turkey is ready to immediately take steps to maintain peace in the region.”
