Valery Permyakov was represented by a Russian public defender at the trial held in the territory of Russian military base in Armenia’s Gyumri city. There Permyakov was tried over the charges of walkout and illegal keeping of weapons.
Melanya Arustamyan, Head of the Office of Armenia’s Public Defender, declined to respond to the question on whether law enforcement authorities had addressed them for providing an attorney for the Russian soldier.
