"Turkey takes steps for the stability and security in the region. The recent steps taken to build confidence with Armenia are also within this framework," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Saifuddin Abdullah, who is on a visit to Ankara.
Turkish FM noted that special representatives were appointed to start direct relations between Turkey and Armenia.
"We have appointed mutual special representatives to start direct contacts, and our special representatives will meet soon," Cavusoglu said.
"Our dream is the complete maintenance of stability and peace in the South Caucasus. Besides, we want to implement railway and land projects, including the Zangazur Corridor, which will connect the countries and make a significant contribution to economic development. As Turkey, we will also support these projects," the Turkish FM also added.
