He said that one of the priorities of the economic potential, which is constantly enriched by the wise and far-sighted policy of President Ilham Aliyev, is to raise the country's defense capabilities.
The premier emphasized that the establishment of a modern defense and military-industrial complex in Azerbaijan was also initiated by President Ilham Aliyev.
He said the achievements gained in this area played a key part in equipping the Azerbaijani Army with the highest level of ammunition during the 44-day Patriotic War.
Asadov stressed that Azerbaijan exports its defense products to more than 30 countries.
“While in 2003-2004 only 0.9 billion manats were allocated from the state budget for defense expenditures, in 2020 this figure reached 3.9 billion manats. Next year's state budget will set more than 4.5 billion manats for defense and national security,” he added.
