Earlier in July, it was reported that the construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline can be delayed due to disagreements between the sides regarding the cost of the supplied gas. In early August, Interfax agency reported that Gazprom decided to build one or two strings of the pipeline. Ankara expressed its interest in the construction of the only string to be extended to this country.
The Turkish Stream project is limited to the construction of a pipeline under the Black Sea and a gas hub on the border between Turkey and Greece. However, the EU is not interested in the construction of this pipeline bypassing Ukraine and stated that it wants to get the Russian gas by previous route within the previous agreements.
