The nearly 50-ton food aid including 500 packs was delivered during an official ceremony in the Afghan capital last Friday, the TIKA said in a press release.
"Turkey has always helped us during our hard times, and it is the first country sending humanitarian aid in response to the recent terrorist attacks in Kabul," Dr. Nasrin Oryakhil, Afghan Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs & Disabled said during the opening speech.
"The aid delivered today means the world to those families who lost their all in the attacks," she said.
TIKA`s Kabul Program Coordinator Suleyman Sahin said the packs, which started to be delivered to the families in need following the ceremony, should meet the food needs of hundreds of families for a few months.
"Afghanistan and Turkey are two brotherly countries. We will continue to be with our Afghan brothers both on their good and bad days," he said.
