Azerbaijan announces latest number of mines detected in liberated areas 

In 2021, the minesweepers of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) cleared 6,201 hectares of mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), said Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov.

As a result, 4,880 antipersonnel mines, 2,335 anti-tank mines and 11,205 anti-personnel mines were detected and neutralized.

The chairman of the agency stated that 1,981 hectares of agricultural lands, 1,373 hectares of residential areas, 1,618 hectares of transport infrastructure projects, 586 hectares of power lines and 644 hectares of other projects were cleared of mines.
