The first Turkic-speaking radio station went live on Tuesday across Azerbaijan as Baku continues to closely cooperate with other Turkic countries on popularizing the bloc’s local cultures and strengthening the unity of the region’s peoples.
The newly launched Radio TMB, which will contribute to the development of interstate information sharing, began broadcasting in Azerbaijan on February 1, 2022.
Radio TMB 100.5 FM covers all districts of Azerbaijan, and audiences can also tune in over at www.100.5fm.az and the Azerspace1 satellite platform.
The social significance of the Radio TMB project is to promote Azerbaijan’s national vision and tolerance, encourage young people to adopt national values and traditions, and draw attention to the modern musical art of Turkic countries and peoples.
The new radio project is being helmed by the TMB media group (Türk Millətlər Birliyi – Union of Turkic Countries), which supports the development of projects in the field of information and media aimed at strengthening the solidarity of Turkic countries and peoples.
The TMB media group has also helmed projects such as the TMB TV channel, which broadcasts on Turksat, Intelsat, KazSat, and Azerspace1, as well as via cable channels of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and many OTTIPTV platforms since 2011.
TMB TV has been airing the TurkVizyon music festival of Turkic-speaking countries since 2013.
