Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with the Minister of State for Energy Affairs of Qatar, President and CEO of Qatar Energy Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, AzVision.az reports citing the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.
The trends in the development of the world gas market and the existing opportunities for the development of energy cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.
While speaking about the potential of Azerbaijan's traditional and renewable energy, infrastructure and gas export goals, Shahbazov stressed that now it is good time to establish energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar.
The minister also said that cooperation has been established with Nebras Power on gas turbine and wind energy projects.
Moreover, Shahbazov called the rich wind energy potential of the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea a promising sphere for energy cooperation.
“An agreement was reached during the meeting to continue holding meetings to assess the possibilities of cooperation,” the message said.
